Why I Do This

A few years ago, friends stopped making jokes about me being "the prepper."

They started coming to me quietly. Private messages. Hushed conversations after dinner parties. "What do you think about all this?" "Where do I even start?" "We're thinking about leaving the country..."

These weren't paranoid people. These were doctors, lawyers, accountants—smart, capable professionals who could see the train coming. They were just too busy to get off the tracks.

So I started helping them.

Now? Every one of my family members has a solar roof.

Years ago, I stood in Home Depot at 11pm in my scrubs, begging for the last generator before a hurricane. I didn't know what I was doing. I was just scared.

Fast forward to Helene and Milton, back-to-back: nine days without grid power. But this time? My family had power. Hot coffee every morning. My house became the neighborhood charging station. My sister with the diabetic daughter borrowed our backup. The system worked.

I learned the hard way that being smart doesn't mean being prepared. That's a separate skill. One nobody taught us.

Now I teach it.

Whatever letters you have after your name—and some of you have a LOT—you didn't earn them by having free time. The little time you DO have should be with your family. Not researching water filters at midnight.

I did this for my best friends. Now I'm doing it for you.

The Prepper Appetizer

Your First $500

Watch Replay

Some of you are waiting for the full course. I get it. But I don't want you sitting there unprepared in the meantime. So here's your starter kit: $500, four categories, and you can do it THIS WEEKEND. This won't make you fully prepared—that's what the course is for—but it gets you off zero.

We covered:

  • Water (~$100): Jackson, Mississippi's water system failed for WEEKS. 150,000 people told "don't open your mouth while showering." In an American state capital.
  • Food (~$150): Texas 2021—the grid came within 4.5 minutes of total collapse. What worked? Families with pantries.
  • Power & Light (~$100): In 2003, a software bug and overgrown trees took out power to 55 MILLION people across the Northeast and Midwest. That's a lot of darkness. I'll show you how to brighten it up.
  • Documents (~$50): If your house was on fire and you had 90 seconds—could you grab copies of everything important? Could your spouse?

What you'll get: The Appetizer Shopping List with exact items and links. Done is better than perfect. Let's get you started.

50 Free Habits That Could Save Your Life

Thinking Differently About Everyday Choices

Thursday, January 29

~60-70 minutes

Everything I'm about to share is going to sound obvious. You'll hear some of these and think, "Well, DUH." Good. That means you already know it's important. But here's my question: Are you actually doing it?

Highlights:

  • The half-tank rule (people waited HOURS for gas during Helene—some ran out while IN LINE)
  • Why backing into your driveway could save your life (firefighters do it for a reason)
  • The phone number test: Do you know 3 numbers by heart? Do your CHILDREN?
  • Why your keys need ONE home (your panicking brain at 2am can't search)
  • The family meeting point conversation you haven't had yet

Quick test—try these right now: Point to your nearest flashlight. Don't look around. POINT. Point to your nearest fire extinguisher. What's your spouse's phone number? Say it out loud. How much cash do you have at home right now?

The 5 Biggest Mistakes Busy Professionals Make

Why Smart, Capable People Stay Unprepared

Thursday, February 5

~45 minutes

You're probably making at least three of these right now. I know because I made all of them. After years of helping colleagues figure this out—and watching smart, capable people fail in the same predictable ways—I've identified the five critical thinking mistakes that keep us stuck.

In this session:

  • Why "I'll get to it later" is the most dangerous phrase in preparedness (later never comes)
  • The research trap that keeps smart people paralyzed (Hello 52 browser tabs that never become action)
  • Why your training might actually be working against you here
  • The "perfect or nothing" thinking that stops you before you start
  • The gear myth that's costing you money and peace of mind

Fair warning: This one might sting a little. But that's how you know it's working.

What If the Power Goes Out for 7 Days?

A Day-by-Day Reality Check

Thursday, February 19

~60 minutes

Day 1 feels like an adventure. Candles! Ice cream before it melts! By Day 3, your freezer is dead and thousands of dollars of food is rotting. Medical issues become urgent. Morale drops. By Day 5, the gas lines are hours long—if the stations even have power to pump.

In this session:

  • The origin story: Standing in Home Depot in scrubs at 11pm, desperate for a generator (spoiler: got the last one)
  • What happens when your freezer dies and your insulin-dependent family member is staying with you
  • Why your family has to be able to function WITHOUT you (because you might be stuck at work)
  • The sanitation reality nobody wants to talk about (yes, we're going there)
  • Three quick wins you can do THIS WEEK

Bonus: The Kitty Litter Method—the $20 emergency toilet system that kept our house from smelling for 5 days during Milton. It went viral for a reason. (Yes, really. Stop laughing.)

Prepping for Doctors

Your Unique Challenges (and Advantages)

Thursday, February 26

~75 minutes

This session is specifically for medical professionals—physicians, veterinarians, dentists. If that's you, this is the one you don't want to miss.

Here's what nobody outside medicine understands: When everyone else is evacuating, we're staying. When everyone else is sheltering with their families, we're at work. When everyone else is checking on their kids, we're taking care of OTHER people's kids. And we feel guilty either way.

The challenges we'll tackle:

  • You can't always be there (and your family has to function without you)
  • You're essential personnel—you can't just "leave early"
  • You know too much (our medical knowledge is a blessing AND a curse)
  • You have zero time (when exactly are you supposed to research solar generators?)

The advantages we'll leverage:

  • We think in systems (triage thinking applies to prep)
  • We have income (stop wasting 40 hours to save $50)
  • We have medical knowledge (you're the most valuable person on your street in an emergency)
  • We have ACCESS

At the end, I'll reveal something that will change how you think about preparedness: There's insider access to professional medical supplies—real medications, not the nonsense you see online—at a fraction of what you'd pay at any pharmacy. Things you literally cannot buy at CVS. I've personally saved over $10,000 building my medical stockpile this way. This access is exclusive to course members. But I'll show you exactly what's possible.
