After years of prepping and talking to hundreds of preppers, I've noticed that there are really only three types of people who prep. And knowing which type you are changes everything about how you should approach this.
Type 1: "Get It Done" Preppers
You want this handled FAST. You don't love the process — you love the RESULT (peace of mind). You're willing to invest smartly, check it off your list, and get back to living your best life.
You're the person who hires professionals, follows proven systems, and doesn't want to reinvent the wheel needlessly.
What you need: The "get it done, then maintain it" approach. Clear checklists. Curated product recommendations. A system you can set up and forget. You may even want bespoke prepping — and we can help you with that.
Type 2: "I Enjoy This" Hobby Preppers
You actually LIKE prepping. The research. The planning. The gear. The skills. You're not doing this just for security — you find it genuinely interesting.
You're the person who reads reviews for fun, watches survival YouTube, and gets excited about new gear.
What you need: Deep dives. Skill-building courses. Community discussions. The freedom to geek out.
Type 3: "Worried" Preppers
You started prepping because something scared you. A hurricane. A pandemic. A close call. And now you can't stop thinking about all the things that could go wrong.
You're the person who lies awake at night wondering if you've done enough.
What you need: A CLEAR ENDPOINT. Permission to stop. A system that tells you "you're prepared enough" so you can finally relax. LazyPrep™ is the perfect start for you — get the core items easily, check them off, and breathe.
My Own Journey
I started as Type 3 (anxious after my first hurricane). The uncertainty was keeping me up at night. I needed to DO something.
Then I became Type 2 (fell in love with it). I discovered I genuinely enjoyed the research, the planning, the problem-solving.
Now I'm mostly Type 1 (maintain what I have and live my life). My systems are in place. I do quarterly maintenance. And I spend my energy on actually living, not worrying.
The Goal Is the Same
No matter which type you are, the destination is the same: peace of mind.
Get your foundation in place. Build the systems that work for YOUR brain. Then go live your life knowing your family is protected.
